For those of you who understand the technical stuff, here are
some facts about our Wind Turbine.
It’s a 15KW wind turbine
on a 15m tower – Proven Energy’s WT 15000 which should be capable of producing
more than 40,000 units of electricity per annum at this site, which has an
average windspeed of 6.7 metres/second at 10 metres above ground level (source:
BERR windspeed database). Electricity generated will be supplied directly into
the National Grid – EON have confirmed that this is easily achieved via 3 phase
‘box’ which is mounted on a power line at the edge of our property. The
construction of the turbine required two concrete foundations (total 19.4m3
concrete) and improved access for the ready-mix lorry.
